Mammone & Company, Inc., Fire & Arson Consultants, provides the following services:

 

Investigations

  • Complete investigations to determine the origin an cause of fires and explosions

  • Our investigation is initiated immediately upon the receipt of the assignment. We make every effort to conduct our fire scene examinations within one to two days of the receipt of the assignment. When required we will make every effort to initiate an immediate response to the fire scene upon receipt of an urgent assignment.

  • We are licensed, bonded and insured

Consulting Services

To best identify:

  • Possible avenues for subrogation

  • Possible spoliation issues

  • The need for additional independent expert examinations (i.e. electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, boiler expert, etc…)

  • The need to initiate a financial investigation

  • Possible third party actions

  • The need to place parties on notice

  • Discovery

  • Etc…

Evidence Services

  • Collection

  • Maintenance

  • Storage

  • We arrange for forensic laboratory testing of evidence (i.e. x-ray, gas chromatograph / mass spectrometry to test for the presence of ignitable liquids, etc…)

  • We arrange for the examination of evidence by independent experts (i.e. electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, boiler expert, etc…)

  • These examinations can be conducted at the fire scene or at one of our evidence storage facilities

  • We also arrange for joint examinations of fire scenes and/or evidence

  • Where the fire scene or evidence is in our control we strictly supervise the joint examination to prevent destructive examinations (when applicable), produce a sign in / sign out sheet for the use of all participating parties

  • We provide all evidence services for investigations conducted by our company and separately in situations where only collection and storage are needed

  • All evidence is collected, secured, and maintained with a fully documented chain of custody, available upon request

Reports

We produce complete Origin & Cause Reports which include:

  • Complete text of our exterior and interior examination, authorities research, interviews, conclusions and exhibits (i.e. Fire Chief report request, Fire Marshal report request, sketch, photo index, color photo array, newspaper articles, etc…)

  • We make every effort, when possible, to produce a complete report within one to two weeks of the fire scene examination

  • At the request of the client these reports are produced either bound in hard copy or as a digital e-file (digital e-file reports are complete reports with color photos)

  • All reports are archived by Mammone & Company, Inc. and can be produced to the client at any time in the future upon request

  • With subsequent requests for a digital e-file copy of a report, the report is provided immediately at no cost to the client

  • We provide verbal updates from the fire scene (when requested)

  • In lieu of a complete written report we can provide (when requested) either no report, an abbreviated e-mail update or a short form report

Additional Services

  • Investigations to prepare for subrogation in non-fire related incidents (i.e. New York City Tower Crane Collapse, etc…). We gather all pertinent information, interviews, facts, exhibits, municipal reports, etc… in preparation for subrogation proceedings

  • Dewatering of flooded areas (i.e. cellars, basements) via the use of a heavy duty 3” gasoline operated trash pump

  • Extensive illumination and electrical power supply to large area fire scenes via the use of portable halogen lights and a heavy duty gasoline operated electric generator

  • Digital video recording of fire scenes

  • Custom distance photography via the use of a T-mount, 1300MM x2, F/8-16, digital SLR zoom lens (useful in remote no-access areas)

  • Custom close-up photography via the use of a digital SLR macro ring flash

  • Moderate fire scene excavations (in lieu of hiring independent wrecking crew)
